Ways To Manage Stress.

Feeling stressed, in my opinion, far from enjoyable. But with the pressures of modern life, I think that stress is something that people are experiencing more and more. And if you ask me, that's not cool. So today I just wanted to share a few quick ideas of how one might go about managing their stress levels in order to promote positive health and wellbeing.

♥ ORGANISE YOUR MIND ♥

When I'm feeling stressed it's usually because I'm really busy and overwhelmed. I can have all sorts of random thoughts and things I need to do floating about my mind. I personally find this hard to manage and sort through and so I like to write things down. I try to write a list of all the things that I need to do or that are bothering me and systematically work through this. I think it can sometimes be a little overwhelming to see a long physical list of things that need to be done, but to me that's less overwhelming that having them all in a jumble in my head.

♥ RATIONALISE ♥

When you're stressed I think it's really important to rationalise things. You are only one person and one person can only do so much. Chances are you're already doing your best and pushing yourself to your limit or you wouldn't be feeling stressed in the first place. Spend a little bit of time putting things into perspective and prioritising what is possible.

♥ PRIORITISE ♥

That leads us nicely on to prioritising what is important. Prioritising can be really hard but it's so important to acknowledge what actually needs to be done and what can wait. This will help relieve some pressure and help you further organise your mind and time.

♥ RELAX ♥ 

When we're stressed it's usually because we're under pressure and that can make us feel awful. So taking time for yourself to try to relax is really important for helping you manage in a stressful situation, even if it's only for 5 minutes to practice some deep breathing or whatever you've found works for you. I know this is easier said than done, but relaxation is something that gets easier with regular practice, so do yourself a favour and make time, you'll thank yourself later!

♥ LOOK AFTER YOURSELF ♥

For me, this is essential whether you're stressed or not, but it's even more important when things are tough, even though you might not feel like it. Looking after yourself means you're in a prime position to tackle stress head on and get through it. Make sure you're eating well, exercising regularly and getting plenty of sleep.
