Bullet Journal Supplies.

I thought today I'd share with you some of the supplies that I've been using to put together my bullet journal. I think my supplies are reasonably minimal, but I'm pretty happy with the stationary that I'm using and I think they work pretty well in my little Leuchtturm 1917.

♥ PENS ♥

When I first started my bullet journal, I was having a major pen dilemma. The fineliner and gel pens I already had would bleed through the pages (very annoying) and a biro made the paper go all crinkly, neither of which I was pretty impressed about. So after a scour in WHSmith, I found the Uni Pin Fineline in 0.3. I tested it out in my Leuchtturm before I bought it and found that it didn't bleed through (yay!). I also picked the same pen up in a 0.8 diameter too for thicker lettering.

I also use some fineliners I picked up from The Works a wee while ago to add a bit of colour, although I don't do any major writing with these as they can have a tendency to bleed. So it's mainly just on my habit tracker and my daily gratitude log. They work fine for this and were cheaper than buying the Staedtler fineliners (which seem to cost a bomb, or maybe I'm just cheap). I will occasionally also use a Sharpie finetip permanent marker for when I'm writing over washi. And on that note...

♥ WASHI ♥

I don't use a whole lot of washi in my bullet journal but I do like to have it to hand to do a bit of decorating should the feeling take me. The washi I use is mainly from Hobbycraft, but I also have a couple of plain washi tapes that I found in Paperchase. I will occasionally use washi to cover up any boo boos because otherwise they irritate the shit out of me. My personal favourite is my doughnut washi, because it has doughnuts on it and who doesn't love doughnuts?!

♥ OTHER ♥

If you read my latest bullet journal update, you may have noted that I also use these index sticky notes to help plan out my blog posts in my bujo. I use the different colours for different categories of blog posts and put them in my monthly planner so I have an overview of my posts for the month. I'm actually finding this really helpful in terms of making sure I get my content written and put up on time, especially with me going on holiday (which is where I am when you're reading this!). I also have a little ruler that I keep in the back pouch of my bullet journal to use when I'm drawing up monthly views etc. But for everyday underlining I just go freehand.

And I think that's pretty much everything that I use on a regular basis. I may also use the odd sticker every now and again, but typically I like to keep things pretty plain and simple (mainly because I'm a bit lazy). If you'd like to catch up on my previous bujo posts, you can do so here.

What are your favourite journaling supplies? I'd love for you to share your must haves either in the comments below or drop me a tweet @mygenerallife.

  1. Great post! I just started a bullet journal, so I'm loving seeing what everyone else uses. I'm so glad I invested in the right pens, it definitely makes it easier.
