Following on from my recent post on 'Creating Healthy Habits', I thought that I would share five ways you can go about having yourself a positive morning. If you want to have a positive day, it's really important to get the day off on the right foot and set things in motion for the day ahead.
Want to feel good in the morning and for the rest of the day? Then this sleep is priority number 1! I know I feel bloody awful and less than lively of a morning if I've had a bad nights sleep, so be mindful of this and ensure you get to bed at a reasonable hour and practice a positive night time routine - you can see my tips for getting a good nights sleep here.
Do you like to have lots of time to get yourself ready at a casual pace (I'm in this camp), or do you prefer to just get up and go? Knowing how you like to roll of a morning will help get off to the est start as it will ensure you allow yourself enough time to do what needs to be done. I like to have plenty of time and can't function at anything more than a snails pace, I also like to just sit peacefully for 15 minutes while I eat my breakfast, so I get up a little earlier to accommodate this.
There's been much debate about whether or not breakfast is the most important meal of the day or not. To be honest, I have no idea where the evidence stands with this. But I personally think that breakfast is really important for a positive morning. It's so important to nourish your body and start your day as you mean to go on...with goodness! Here's some porridge recipes and a smoothie recipe that I've shared in the past to whet your appetite.
This is something I'm pretty rubbish at, but having everything you need organised will allow you to go about your routine efficiently and effectively, resulting in less stress and more of a positive mindset. Set anything you need for your day out the night before to allow you to either a) spend a little bit more time relaxing of a morning or b) allow you to get things done quicker.
Starting the day with a smile on your face is a surefire way to feeling positive and transferring this to the rest of your day. Our mindsets are so important when it comes to feeling happy, positive and energised, so if you want to feel it, you need to think it too!
How do you set yourself up for a positive morning? I'd love to hear your thoughts either in the comments below, or why not tweet me @mygenerallife.

Being organised is the way I stay positive. I write everything down and keep mental notes of so many things. Of course I smile a lot as well! xx

DeleteI absolutely loved this, and I should definitely take the advice of ensuring I get a good night's sleep. Lately I've been getting minimal sleep and it's turning me into such a frustrated person! I think the lack of sleep really gives me a short fuse, definitely not good!
