Pink Hair, Don't Care.

If you follow my Instagram, then you may have noticed that my hair has taken on a pretty pink hue of late. After months of deliberating I finally decided to take the plunge and create a pink ombre on my locks and I bloody love it. So I thought I'd share how I got there (although it's certainly not rocket science).

So, to get my hair ready for the pink I touched up my regular dye. For anyone that's interested I use Superdrug's Colour Vibrance in Rich Copper Gold for the strawberry blonde-ish roots and lengths and then one of the L'Oreal Ombre kits for the lighter ends.

So, once I'd got the base colour nice and tidy, I picked up the Bleach London Super Cool Colour in The Big Pink. I placed about an inch long blob in a mixing bowl and added a rather large squirt of conditioner before mixing this all together. I slightly dampened my hair (the bottle said to wash it, but I really couldn't be bothered!). Then using a hair dye brush I painted it on the ends of my hair up to around the mid lengths (where my ombre stopped). I used my hands (gloved, of course) to help blend the colour to prevent harsh lines and make sure all of the hair I wanted to be pink was covered. I also focused more dye on the very ends to create a nice, intense colour.

I then left the dye to hang out for around 15-20 minutes before rinsing out with water only - no shampoo! I think the benefit of mixing conditioner in with the dye meant that my hair was still nice and soft after rinsing and not a horrendous, tangled mess.

I had read lots of reviews about Bleach London dyes washing pretty much straight out, however I haven't had that issue at all. They say the dye will last 2-10 washes and even after 4 washes my hair is still a lovely bubblegum pink colour. I'm so glad I took the plunge and just  went for it, I definitely think I'll be keeping it this way for a wee while.

Have you ever considered dyeing your hair a different colour for a bit of fun? If you could pick any hair colour, what would it be? Why not share your thoughts in the comment below, or drop me a tweet @mygenerallife?!
