Try Something New...

Let me tell you a little fact about me...I'm a bit of a creature of habit. I like my predictable, familiar routine where I like to do things in my own little way and sit, quite happily, in my comfort zone. But this year I've set a little challenge to myself to try things that are new and different - to me anyway. I guess this is a way of my pushing myself out of my comfort zone, finding new loves and adventures and increasing my social contact - something that since moving to a brand new place last year has been somewhat lacking.

Are You Having A Fa-LAUGH-el?

Since making the transition to a veggie diet, I've definitely found I've needed to get a little more creative in the kitchen. I'd never tried falafel before, but on a quest to make sure I'm still getting plenty of protein I decided to give them a try. Seeing as this week is National Vegetarian Week, I thought it was about time I got my recipe up so you can all make some delicious veggie treats!

Mental Health Awareness Week - #SHhealthyminds.

If you weren't aware, last week was Mental Health Awareness week (11th-17th May). A week of the year that is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues, started by The Mental Health Foundation in 2000. I have been able to be involved in a little project in collaboration with Simply Health and all last week I was dropping positive tweets, along with #SHhealthyminds, in honour of Mental Health Awareness week.

Sore Muscle Saviours...

Is it just me or is DOMS the worst pain going? Call me a wimp, but I seriously I turn into the biggest winge bag on the block when I have DOMS. I know it's a necessary evil and means that my muscles are growing and getting stronger, but I still struggle. There's no quick fix for getting rid of DOMS, but I thought I'd share a few things that I've found helpful for soothing sore muscles and restoring the calm in my life.

Free From Favourites.

Since working out that lactose is not my friend and experimenting with a more 'free from' diet, I've tried and discovered lots of delicious free from faves (nice bit of alliteration for you there!) that I thought I would share with you. Not all of these products are marketed as specifically 'free from', however some just so happen to be which is great.
