Last Minute Homemade Gift.

Hello there lovely people.

With Christmas just around the corner (4 more sleeps!!), I thought I would share a little last minute gift that you can whip together in just a few minutes that is pretty inexpensive too.

What you need:
- A glass jar - this can be anything, a recycled jam jar or one of these inexpensive clip jars (80p from Ikea!)
- 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 6 tbsp Icing Sugar (you could also use Natvia Icing Mix which would reduce the sugar content and make this more diabetic friendly!)
- 6 tbsp Skimmed Milk Powder
- 3 tbsp Chocolate Chips
- Mini Marshmallows
- Decorations - string, candy canes and don't forget the instructions!

Basically, all you need to do is layer up the ingredients in your chosen container (I did icing sugar, cocoa, skimmed milk powder then chocolate chips), decorate and there you have it, a lovely little home made hot chocolate gift. I didn't have room for the marshmallows in the jar so just popped some in a little gift bag and tied them to the jar.

Don't forget to add the instructions for your recipient knows how to prepare their yummy hot chocolate, all they need to do is shake up the ingredients so they're all mixed together, at 3-4 tbsp to a cup and top up with hot water (or if they're feeling really extravagant they could use hot milk, but this isn't a necessity due to the milk powder!)

And there you have it, a super simple but thoughtful home made gift that you can easily put together at the very last minute. Have you made any home made gifts this year? I'd love for you to share you ideas/tutorials either in the comments below, on Twitter @mygenerallife or on Instagram @generallifeblog
